The Idea Behind the Basic Thoughts

The world may be changing faster than ever before, or perhaps that is simply how we feel and think about it. Then again, when we stop to consider it, who exactly are “we” to make such a claim?
The people who lived before us on this planet probably felt something similar. They may also have believed that the world was changing too quickly and that, given the simple fact that our time is limited, life itself was passing faster than they could fully comprehend it. The human effort to understand the world, the universe, and our own existence by questioning the fundamental basics, and then to encode the so-called answers into words is what we encounter as philosophical thought. Parmenides, Thales, Plato: when we read about these iconic Western philosophers, we start from them because their ideas were the first ones and are still studied and regarded as milestones. They have been expanded, revised, challenged, or rejected by those who responded, in one way or another, by saying: No, it is not like that; it is like this.
Yet when we look beneath all these disagreements and different opinions, we find that they are still concerned with many of the same questions asked by today’s so-called “modern” individual. This is where personal interpretations, perspectives, and backgrounds enter the picture.
We may ask the same questions, but we do not necessarily arrive at them from the same place, and we certainly do not describe what we find in the same way. This is the idea I want to explore through the Basic Thoughts. As our collective knowledge continues to grow, and as we read one theory after another, we follow writers and thinkers who attempt to simplify what appears complicated and make it understandable to us. Yet our perspectives will always remain complex, unsettled, and somewhat disordered.
Within all this confusion of knowledge and meaning , I had long felt the need for a blog where, as someone who studies Interdisciplinary subjects , I could explore my curiosity and express my personal thoughts from my own perspective. On the one hand, I was reading the major theories and works of influential thinkers, gradually expanding my own understanding. On the other, I wanted to bring what I considered my own basic thoughts into contact with other people. As my own ideas began to take shape, I kept reminding myself: these are my thoughts. I may believe that I am right from where I stand, but no one is obliged to agree with me. Eventually, this led me to search for people who might think in similar ways, and for now, this website seems to be the best way for me to do that. Your comments and contributions are especially valuable to me, because I have always tried to leave room for ideas and perspectives different from my own. Let us talk and discuss, so that all of us may broaden the perspectives through which we understand the world.
And if there is one thing I can say with certainty, it is this: if we are the kind of people who devote ourselves to the search for meaning and who genuinely take pleasure in that search, we can never speak of a completely fixed meaning or a completely fixed understanding of reality.
Did you notice it?
Even while saying that, I spoke with certainty.
And that is precisely the point: I was certain.
